About Us

Delphine Ashby-
Plum

Delphine opened Parlor of Plum in 2006 in a rented garage in Altadena, with two clients, one sewing machine and a strong opinion about beige. Twenty years on, the studio still works the same way.

As Creative Director of the Altadena and Summerland studios, she leads every project from first sketch to last cushion, and keeps each one close to the people who will live there.

She sets the design direction, sources materials and furniture, and works side by side with clients and makers so each house ends up with a clear point of view.

Delphine collects stories as much as objects. Her work has appeared in design magazines in the US, the UK and Japan.

How we work

Every good room starts with a story.

We begin with how you live: the dinners, the mess, the music, the morning light. Then we build the rooms around it, with color and texture you can feel.

A powder room gets the same care as a whole house. We design for daily life, not for a photo shoot.

Parlor of Plum is where comfort meets a little mischief.

We design rooms that work hard and still look good

Parlor of Plum is a women-led design studio started with one idea: a room should hold on to its people
