Three lodges and three camps across two private reserves on the Lehana River, run as one company and co-owned with the Mavhu community.

Six are open: Selowe River Lodge, Ashby's Lodge, Kavari Camp, Ebony Camp and Hartley's Camp, with Nandi River Lodge opening in 2027.

In the northern Lowveld, about 90 minutes by road from the nearest regional airport, or 25 minutes by light aircraft to our airstrip.

Permanent river water, open borders with the national park, and a limit of two vehicles at any sighting.

It runs all year. In the dry season it is the only water for a long distance, so game concentrates along it.

Hunting stopped in 1962. Photographic safaris have run here since then.

Lodges have private plunge pools and larger suites. Camps are smaller, older and more communal, with shared verandas and dining.

Kavari Camp and Hartley's Camp have family rooms and a private vehicle for children under twelve.

Between 14 and 20 guests. Ebony Camp takes 14 and can be booked for exclusive use.

Rhino protection, wild dog monitoring, control of bush encroachment and invasive plants.

Two. Guides take turns and keep to the road unless the guide team agrees to go off-road for a specific sighting.

Only when the injury is caused by people, such as a snare. Natural injuries are left alone.

Solar power at all six properties, borehole water treated on site, and no single-use plastic bottles.

Neutral clothing, a warm layer for morning drives, a hat, sunscreen and binoculars. Laundry is included.

Light aircraft allow 20 kg per person in soft bags.

May to October is dry, with thin bush and game on the river. November to April is green, with birds and young animals.

Mornings can drop to 5 °C in June and July. Blankets and hot water bottles are on every vehicle.
