How do you count hours?
From arrival at the first address to the end of unloading. Load and unload take 0.16 h per m³ with a crew of three, less with four, more with two. Driving is counted at 25 mph. Hours round up to the next half hour, never below the van minimum.
Is VAT included?
Yes. Every price on this site includes VAT at 20 %.
What if the move takes longer than the quote?
Extra time is charged in half hours at the same hourly rate. The crew lead tells you before the quoted time runs out.
Do you take furniture apart?
Beds, tables and flat-pack wardrobes, yes, within the hourly rate. Built-in furniture and wall fixings, no.
What will you not move?
Gas bottles, paint, fuel, plants in soil over 20 kg, pianos (we refer you to a piano mover), cash and jewellery.
How much notice do you need?
Four days for a weekday. Weekends and month ends fill two to three weeks ahead.
What does the surcharge apply to?
Labour and stairs. Saturday +15 %, Sunday +20 %, last two days of the month +10 %. They add up: a Saturday at month end is +25 %.
Can I cancel?
Free up to 7 days before. Inside 7 days, 25 % of the quote. On the day, 50 %.
What is the cover for damage?
Up to £50 per item and £10,000 per move, included. Higher declared values on request.
